Last Monday something quite exciting happened.
I lost my Notonthehighstreet.com cherry.
I know that I have been spreading this rumor for a while now but I have finally got all my mugs in a row and am live on the site. The exciting part being, that I have even started to be receive my first few orders!
So, from now on(line) my Bird, Wing and Gun Mugs will be available from here.
Follow the link above if you would like to see them in their new home; meanwhile here are some lovely new mug shots taken by my pal Gemma.
It seems that all of this online excitement has become contagious, with both of my parents also launching new websites and listings. How very high-tech we have become..
As two permanent and stalwart sponsors of Kitty & Dude I feel that Bobby, Popop and their new ventures deserve a shout out!
3 Vanburgh Place, their B and B in Edinburgh has been flourishing over the last few years with repeat Festival visitors booking a year in advance to avoid disappointment whilst an array of Hogmanay revelers and Rugby fans descend upon them in the winter months.
The exciting news is they are now being featured as a luxury B and B here on Quintessential Bed and Breakfasts and 3 VanburghPlace also has its own brand new website and has been voted Excellent both Tripadvisor and Flipkey! Well done Bob!
Part of the 3 Vanburgh Place package is an informative breakfast with your host, offering a wealth of local knowledge.
Now, most little girls remember being read bedside stories; animated voices coupled with dramatic hand gestures and the promise of instant sleep once the fate of the princess had been revealed.
My memories of bedtime were slightly different.. the stories I was being told were about my family. My father would reel out tales of ancestors who were responsible for various bloodthirsty or honorable deeds. It was a dreamworld full of battles, castles and clan feuds.
Despite my obviously biased opinion I cannot recommend his narration abilities enough. My love of history stems from him capturing my imagination and reciting anecdotes from his native city, none so thrilling or tragic as the tale a well known child monarch.
His stories over breakfast are part of the 3 Vanburgh Place experience but for those of you who would like to get immersed in history then he also runs a popular 3 day tour based on the saga of Mary Queen of Scots, which is open to all.
